PS - I first met Chris & Katie several years ago when they hired me to be their wedding photographer. For their engagement pictures, we tromped through waist-high grass in pouring rain for an epic mountain biking engagement session and made something amazing for the wall in their living room. Their outdoor fall ceremony now hangs in their home….

It only seemed fitting to make something special this time around to feature Chris & Katie’s son, Jake!

I'm Excited for 2019 And Here's Why

Holy moly. I’m just coming up for air after the holidays. Do you feel like the last two months just blew by?  I enjoyed serious time off with my family, which was amazing, notably seeing my daughter and her cousins run around at Christmas for the first time. 

Resolutions are great, but what’s actually exciting for you this year? Like, what do you know is coming that you’re looking forward to?

Here’s a few things I’m excited for in 2019:

1. I’ll begin to offer videography services, with a focus on promoting small businesses and entrepreneurs. Wedding videography will come a little farther down the road (I enjoy photographing the wedding day too much right now!).
   

2. Shoot the most epic engagement session at Fenway Park with John & Nancy. The art from this shoot is going to be insane! I have such a vision for how this will turn out. I want to hit each of the four Boston sports venues in the next few years.
   

3. Venturing to all kinds of new wedding venues in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, even California! I love photographing weddings in new places because it’s so inspiring to create new and original images for people.
   

4. I’m having another kiddo! Yup, that’s right. Chrystn and I are expecting #2 to arrive in late February. Gwen is going to be a big sister!
   

5. Photograph more maternity and newborn! So many of my clients-become-friends from past weddings are expecting this year, and it’s so profoundly meaningful to me to help tell the story of the next chapter of their life together.

Professional Headshots on Location in Dover, New Hampshire

I met Rob for his new headshots at his home in Dover. I first met Rob (and his now-wife Lisa!) last spring when we met for their wedding photography. Lisa had the brilliant idea to shoot their engagement session at Petey’s in Rye New Hampshire, a favorite place of theirs. We made a killer image for their wall that to this day is also one of my personal favorites.

I love shooting headshots on location. Just like the wedding day, it’s always a riddle to solve: where is the best light, how can I shape it, and what can we do for the background. From conference rooms to hotel suites, there’s always a solution.

Rob’s living room had a long bank of windows creating nice soft light. With a few reflectors, we had a perfect headshot setup. We cycled through a few outfits, made a bunch of headshots, and Rob made his selections. Here’s a few he chose. Great job, brother!

New Hampshire Wedding at Atkinson Country Club | Candace & Jim

Here’s a Wedding Photography Preview of Candace & Jim’s wedding at Atkinson Resort & Country Club in New Hampshire.

But first, quick backstory… I met Candace several years ago. She came in for a fitness shoot a few weeks before her first natural bodybuilding competition. We made a bunch of killer pictures — okay, gotta include a few of those.

This was the first shoot Candace and I did together. I was pumped for the opportunity to photograph her wedding.

We got to talking about her wedding during her shoot and I soon got to meet with her & Jim for lunch at STREET (best food ever, Portsmouth, check it out) to talk about their wedding. Fast forward and here we are. Their wedding day at Atkinson Resort & Country Club.

Here’s a few interesting things I learned about Candace & Jim from toasts made at their wedding.

• They have known each other since kindergarten

• They went separate ways when they grew up, but it was through Facebook that they reunited… worlds apart, while Candace was living in Mexico.

• Oh, and Damian has got the best flossing dance skills ever. Period!

Gwendolyn's Cake Smash | Photography Session

Turning 1 is a right of passage to your first taste of sugar. And when you’re going to have sugar for the first time, you might as well go all out and have a cake. A whole cake. All for yourself.

Gwendolyn’s cake smash was themed Rainbows and Unicorns! Why? Truth be told, Gwendolyn is a rainbow baby meaning that she came into our world following a miscarriage (which when you become a parent, you discover is all too common yet equally undisclosed).

This was a really special milestone to document. For as much fun as it was to witness, it will be even greater for Gwendolyn and family to experience these photos when she holds one of her first photo albums.

That's how I met Jesse when he called. I knew I was the right photographer for him; the LAST thing you want is a boring headshot that will just blend into the sea of boring old headshots.

Jesse just acquired his real estate license and is a realtor with Keller Williams in the Dover, New Hampshire area. He called up the studio last week, got him in this week, and now he's off and running with his marketing!

Here are a few of the headshots Jesse and I made. We made a nice variety with outdoor and indoor settings with different outfits so he can use them year round!

Melissa & Dan's New Hampshire Wedding Photography Preview at Wentworth Country Club

Melissa & Dan. Mrs Right met Mr White. Where to begin? The wedding was exactly as they described it would be: opulent and fun. From fashion to colors, and the hand-made invitations to the live music by Brandy, this was an unforgettable celebration of two people. 

Enter: said two people. Dan is the shining example of a gentleman, always looking out for Melissa with a calm and cool manner. Like George Bailey in a It's A Wonderful Life when he says, "What is it you want, Mary? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and I'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down!" He would.

And Melissa, Melissa is the wedding stylist extraordinaire who knew exactly how to pull together her dream vision, from her A-line Hayley Paige wedding gown and Dan's mauve suit to the opulent table decor creating the perfect ambiance of a warm summer evening on the coast, this was a dream celebration. 

Guys, your wedding was really special to me. It was special to be your photographer. It was special to be there on your day surrounded by your family and friends, so many of whom are friends of mine from Madeleine's Daughter and past weddings.

Where to begin? Andy & Kerry's wedding was downright fun, stylish, and celebrated amongst what was clearly an amazing collection of family and friends. From the cufflinks to the cake, right down to Kerry's earrings and Toms shoes, these two personalized a "super cool" (Andy's words!) wedding with flare for galaxy decor.

Headshots for New Hampshire Hair & Makeup Artist

This is Jen. Jen is the artist behind Beauty On The Run. Jen wanted to make headshots that captured her personality for her business. 

Knowing Jen well, and that her brands colors are black and red, we crafted a vision for something extra special to help her stand out. 

I love making epic hairspray shots for my wedding clients. Jen has lots of hairspray, I figured, why not make a backlit hairspray shot for Jen? And then gel the lights to make it RED! 

And then to really make her headshots stand out, I uplit her with a beauty dish from below, as opposed to traditional portraits lit from the side or above. Uplighting is a gorgeous light when done correctly.

Corporate Headshots for Dover Professional

Brian works for a large insurance firm. He provides presentations around the country. He recently came in to the studio to make headshots for his speaker profile at conventions and conferences, and for his LinkedIn profile.

Brian has a little girl too, so we naturally got to talking about how awesome it is to be a dad!

How To Never Forget Your Password Ever Again

I know. I get it. You have dozens if not hundreds of passwords to remember. Some accounts require passwords with special characters, or a new password every six months. How the heck can you remember them all? 

It's SO frustrating when you get there, forget your password, and then have to Request Password. You get the PASSWORD RESET email... or the text with six digits... ugh. 

So I started using this new solution that I know you are going to love.

This is a GAME CHANGER!

You can login to anywhere with just a click, or if you're on your phone, unlock your vault with the master password or fingerprint ID and then it will insert your login for you. Voila!

It's quite simple. This app runs on your computer, and stores and fully encrypts of all your logins. Read: This. Is. Safe. 

All you need to remember is your main password to access the app. And, what's more, your main password never leaves your device once it's entered. It stays local, so your main password never even goes out to the web.
