You should work closely with your photographer to create your perfect wedding day timeline.

A perfect wedding day timeline is key to a memorable and fun wedding with great images to enjoy. Your photographer is the key person whom you need to collaborate with (don’t worry, they probably have a worksheet to help you).

Here are three tips to get you started on your wedding day timeline:

  1. Start with your ceremony time. It’s probably the most hard-and-fast item of the day; the next might be the serving time for dinner. Check with your venue or caterer.

  2. Build in buffer time — e.g., 15 minutes to move between locations (from family pictures here to bride & groom pictures there, for example). There will be lag time between each event on your wedding day, so plan for it.

  3. And just remember, everything takes longer than you think. Round up, and then if you have extra time day-of, awesome.
