Jacob + Jamie - New Hampshire Spring Wedding Preview

You would never know the day started off raining cats and dogs were it not for puddles as clues in the pictures. No one was sad about it. Perhaps it was the overwhelming joy and smiles between Jacob, Jamie, and all of their friends and family that was enough to clear the skies by the time the ceremony came around. Talk about radiance!

This day was packed with rich story and meaning, it’s hard to give it all justice without cozying up beside a warm fireplace with a rocking chair and a shiny glass of a finger or two of your favorite liquor (Jacob might recommend Tennessee Honey, which the photos show he carried in style).

The wedding venue, the McQuesten family farm, is an agricultural tradition established in 1744. That was prior to the American Revolution, let’s remember! It remains family operated to this day.

A mile down the road, where Jacob & Jamie tied the proverbial knot, has seen nine generations of McQuestens enter into holy matrimony. NINE. Never have I witnessed such tradition that spans centuries the way this ceremony did on this day.

In honor of something borrowed and something blue, Jamie donned her grandmother’s earrings with blue.

To end the day, after exiting through a tunnel of sparklers held high by guests, Jacob & Jamie drove off into the night on the very tractor that was a wedding gift to his grandparents.

Lest we forget all of the personal touches Jacob & Jamie added to their day, too — an embroidered pocket square for Jacob honoring their fur baby, Layla, who recently crossed the rainbow bridge. There was an outfit change for Jamie at the reception followed by a re-entrance riding horseback (see photos). There were photos with their beloved dachshunds Winnie and Juno, and even a front row seat for them at the reception!
